Myles Garrett Reveals Kobe Bryant's Impact on Him After Wearing T-Shirt for Dodgers 1st Pitch
The newest Los Angeles Rams star paid honor to a local legend while throwing out the first pitch for the Dodgers on Saturday.
Myles Garrett sported a Kobe Bryant shirt to deliver the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium ahead of their matchup with the Los Angeles Angels. Afterwards, he explained Bryant's impact on him.
"I'm a big Kobe fan, I used to wear the short fro just like Kob," Garrett said during an interview on the telecast. "That love has been there ever since and I had a lot of respect for it, you know, the way he goes about his business. Obviously, Mamba mentality, you know, the way he treated every single game, every single second he was out there, he never took it for granted. I've kind of treated my career and my life the same way."
Garrett is hoping to establish himself as a Los Angeles legend the same way Bryant did. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year was traded to the Rams from the Cleveland Browns on Monday in return for linebacker Jared Verse and a handful of draft picks.
Garrett is seeking his first championship after years of mediocrity in Cleveland, and his presence in Los Angeles could give the Rams just what they need to make a Super Bowl run.
