Belmont Stakes 2026 Results, Triple Crown Standings, Payouts, Replay Highlights
Golden Tempo secured its second win of the 2026 Triple Crown season with a come-from-behind effort at the Belmont Stakes.
Golden Tempo hung around in the back of the pack for most of the race, but he used a surge down the final stretch to claim the win for trainer Cherie DeVaux, who became the first female trainer to win two legs of the Triple Crown.
Saturday's win was very similar to how Golden Tempo won the Kentucky Derby. Jose Ortiz drove the now two-time Triple Crown race winner from the back and through traffic into first place.
Golden Tempo took home a $1.2 million purse for his team.

Golden Tempo beat out Commandment and Renegade, two of the pre-race favorites to the finish line.
Commandment produced a strong finish of his own, but it wasn't enough to outlast the push Golden Tempo had in him.
Renegade came up short for the second time as a favorite in this year's Triple Crown races.
Renegade was beaten out at the line by Golden Tempo last month at the Kentucky Derby and took third on Saturday.
Golden Tempo became the second horse in two years to do the Kentucky Derby-Belmont double. Sovereignty produced the same results in 2025. Before that, Justify in 2018 was the last horse to win multiple Triple Crown races in a single year.
