Belmont Stakes Results 2026 Video Replay of Golden Tempo's Race at Saratoga

Golden Tempo won the 158th running of the Belmont Stakes as Triple Crown season came to an end at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday.

Similar to Golden Tempo's Kentucky Derby win, the three-year old colt overcame a slow start to make a move at the final turn. Golden Tempo was able to get away from the pack and hold off Commandment down the stretch to emerge victorious.

While there wasn't an opportunity for the Triple Crown to be completed this year since Golden Tempo didn't compete in the Preakness Stakes, it was still an impressive finish for trainer Cherie DeVaux's horse.

DeVaux chose to focus on celebrating the win rather than considering the possibility of a Triple Crown.

"It's not something I want to think about," DeVaux told Fox Sports' Tom Rinaldi after Saturday's result (h/t CBS Sports' Gene Menez). "We made our decision, and he won today, and we're going to be happy about that."

Renegade, the Derby favorite who narrowly fell to Golden Tempo at Churchill Downs, was also in the field for the Belmont Stakes and finished third behind Golden Tempo and Commandment.
