Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford Called Out by Victor Ortiz for Next Bare Knuckle Boxing Fights
Former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz is set to make his Bare Knuckle Boxing debut next month, and he's hoping to face off against a couple of legends in his new realm of combat sports.
While speaking to TMZ, Ortiz was asked which boxers he would like to bring over to BKB for future fights, and he named stars Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford as his top choices.
"I'll fight anybody. But in Bare Knuckle, I would love a shot at someone like Canelo Alvarez. Why not? Cross over," Ortiz said. "And I say this in the most respectful way to my brother 'T Bud' Crawford... I just think he's one of the greatest, if not the greatest fighter of all time. That guy's an animal... To share a ring with somebody of that caliber, that's something to be looked at."

Ortiz's last boxing match came in May 2022, when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Todd Manuel. In 43 career fights, the 39-year-old has a record of 33-7-3 with 25 KOs.
Ortiz is set to take on 42-year-old Dominic Salcido in BKB on July 18. Salcido has a professional boxing record of 18-5 with nine KOs, and he will also be making his BKB debut.
A strong performance by Ortiz could be enough to draw the attention of Alvarez or Crawford, but it would be a massive surprise to see either of them make the jump to BKB for a fight against him anytime soon.
