Maxx Crosby Addresses Failed Ravens Trade Amid Raiders OTAs, 'Water Under the Bridge'
Las Vegas Raiders edge-rusher Maxx Crosby told reporters on Wednesday that he has moved on from the failed March trade that would have sent him to the Baltimore Ravens, per Mark Anderson of the Associated Press.
"I don't really want to talk about that, to be honest. It's water under the bridge. It's a long time ago," Crosby said during Raiders' offseason team activities. "I'm here and I want to be here and I'm excited to be here and I've got a lot of work to do. It's water under the bridge."
Crosby, who was speaking with Las Vegas reporters for the first time this offseason, made clear that he wants to be part of the Silver and Black.
"I want to be out there and be part of the team," Crosby said. "I just love what I do and I love playing football and I love being on the field."
Crosby has played his entire seven-year career with the Raiders, amassing 69.5 sacks and 164 quarterback hits. He's made the Pro Bowl each of the last five seasons.
The former Eastern Michigan star has been sensational. However, the Raiders have largely struggled, posting just one winning season during his tenure. Las Vegas hasn't made the playoffs since 2021 and lost its lone playoff game that season as well.
Things appeared to sour between Crosby and the Raiders amid a 3-14 season. Crosby had played with a knee injury from October-December that ultimately required offseason surgery. Crosby wanted to play the final two weeks, but the Raiders wanted to sit him. That's what ultimately happened.
Las Vegas traded Crosby to the Ravens for a pair of first-round picks in March as it underwent a significant rebuild and allowed the superstar to go to a better team with winning potential.
However, four days after the trade, the Ravens pulled back on the deal because of medical concerns regarding his aforementioned knee following a physical.
In the end, Crosby is back with the Raiders, who look much-improved on paper, especially with head coach Klint Kubiak aboard and Fernando Mendoza about to take over the reins at QB. Although Crosby has endured much losing, that could very well change soon enough in town as the team embarks on a new era.
