Summer Predictions For WWE and AEW
Despite some of the biggest events of the year being booked during the summer, the next several months are a notoriously slow period for both All Elite Wrestling and WWE. But it's imperative each company keeps its respective momentum rolling.
One way to ensure fans stay tuned to the weekly programming is to build characters they can get behind emotionally by telling relatable, interesting stories that culminate at marquee events such as SummerSlam or All In.
Here are the summer predictions both companies need to book to keep fans from tuning out.

Seth Rollins to Battle Roman Reigns at SummerSlam
Despite the fact that Seth Rollins is embroiled in a feud with Bron Breakker, he has the inside lane to win the King of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions and face off against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.
While the early favorite to win the King of the Ring tournament is Oba Femi, there is little doubt Brock Lesnar will make his return to television after The Ruler said they had unfinished business.
With Lesnar costing Femi his chance to earn a world title shot in the semifinals, the finals of the tournament will likely come down to Rollins and Breakker, which would be a natural next chapter in their storyline.
Once Rollins wins, he will turn his attention to Reigns and the world title.
With so much history already between the former members of the Shield, the marquee matchup would bolster the Road to SummerSlam in August.
Mercedes Monรฉ Takes Over
Since the departure of Toni Storm from AEW's Women's Championship scene due to injury, the company has failed to generate the same level of excitement surrounding the division.
While Thekla has been a revelation, the Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament needs a major shot in the arm right now.
It's time for Mercedes Monรฉ to return to the top of the division.
With Willow Nightingale's injury opening a spot in the tournament, Mercedes Monรฉ made her triumphant return to AEW programming with a marquee victory over NJPW Strong women's champion Alex Windsor.
After the win, Monรฉ should be featured prominently on weekly television, getting the mic time and matches needed to win back the fans. Once she wins the Owen Hart Tournament, she should set her sights on Thekla and the women's world title.
Fans should prepare for the Summer of Monรฉ.
WWE Capitalizes on Chad Gable's Momentum
One of the best WWE matches in recent memory was the Lucha de Apuestas Mรกscara contra Mรกscara battle between El Grande Americano and "The Original" El Grande Americano, portrayed by Chad Gable.
Following the match, Gable took off his mask and received a hero's response, leading many to believe WWE should bring him back to the United States and book him in a meaningful feud to capitalize on the momentum created in Mexico.
The Olympian was already respected by most hardcore fans for his elite in-ring work, excellent promos and memorable storylines, but he never received the support from WWE Creative he deserved.
This should be Gable's moment.
WWE has failed to capitalize on the momentum organically created by its Superstars in the past, but the company's working relationship with AAA should be incentive enough to book Gable as a top midcard draw throughout the summer.
