French Open 2026 Men's Semifinal Preview, Predictions for Roland-Garros Bracket

Nicholas NathansonJun 3, 2026

The men's semifinal is set, and boy are the storylines endless.

All four contestants are seeking their first Grand Slam title.

Alexander Zverev is just two wins away from his long, long quest for a title, while Jakub Mensik enters after a dominant win over 19-year-old wunderkind Joao Fonseca.

Then, there's the all-Italian showdown between No. 10 Flavio Cobolli and Matteo Arnaldi, who has spent nearly 20 hours on court.

From previews to predictions, we've got you covered ahead of Friday's play.

Friday's Semifinal Schedule

Alexander Zverev vs. Jakub Mensik: 8:35 a.m. ET (TNT, HBO Max)

Flavio Cobolli vs. Matteo Arnaldi: 1 p.m. ET (TNT, HBO Max)

Matteo Arnaldi vs. Flavio Cobolli

1 of 2
2026 French Open - Day Eleven
Flavio Cobolli

Matteo Arnaldi has logged more court time to reach a major semifinal than any other player since the ATP began tracking matches in 1991.

However, his extensive time on court might prove to be his Achilles' heel.

Flavio Cobolli has lost just two sets en route to his first major semifinal.

Like Arnaldi, he has relied on his athleticism and defense to survive and advance.

Arnaldi is capable of making this a competitive match, but Cobolli's current form and significantly reduced wear and tear should be the ultimate difference.

Prediction: Flavio Cobolli over Matteo Arnaldi in 4 sets

Jakub Mensik vs. Alexander Zverev

2026 French Open - Day Ten
Alexander Zverev

Alexander Zverev is just two wins away from his first Grand Slam title.

The world No. 3 has been dominant at Roland-Garros, dropping just one set en route to the semifinal.

Zverev has played arguably his most aggressive tennis here while finding his usual success on serve, coming off a straight-set win over 19-year-old Rafael Jodar.

However, his semifinal opponent, Jakub Mensik, enters with tons of momentum.

The 20-year-old Czech enters his maiden major semifinal on the heels of a dominant straight-set win over Joao Fonseca.

Mensik was clinical on serve while impressing with his defense, athleticism, and stellar net play.

If Mensik can replicate his quarterfinal performance, the match could be thrilling.

Even then, Zverev's current form might just be too much for him to overcome.

Prediction: Alexander Zverev over Jakub Mensik in 4 sets
