Jakub Mensik's incredible run at Roland-Garros continued on Tuesday evening after he defeated Joao Fonseca in straight sets—6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (3)—to advance to the semifinal round.

Mensik, the No. 26 seed in this year's draw, dominated with his serve. He amassed nine aces and won 83 percent of his first serve points (54-of-65). Mensik also dominated at the net, winning 38-of-51 points there.

In the first set, Mensik broke Fonseca, the No. 28 seed, with the score tied at two games apiece. Mensik held serve from there to take the first set, 6-4.

The same pattern happened in the second set, as Mensik broke Fonseca with the score tied at two each once again.

However, this time, Mensik broke Fonseca once more to close the set, winning 6-3.

Fonseca got off to a great start in the third set, breaking Mensik right away.

However, Mensik broke Fonseca a few games later to tie the set at two.

An incredible battle ensued from there. Fonseca broke Mensik to go up 4-3, but Mensik broke back shortly thereafter in a 16-point game to tie it up at five.

Mensik held serve to go up 6-5 and then had six match points in a 20-point game. Remarkably, Fonseca held off all of them to force the tiebreaker.

However, Mensik took control. He held serve on his first point and got his second point immediately on Fonseca's serve for the early 2-0 edge en route to the 7-3 tiebreaker victory.

The 20-year-old Mensik, who has now made his first major semifinals, will now face No. 2 Alexander Zverev. The 19-year-old Fonseca still impressed in his best-ever showing at a major, making the quarterfinals for the first time ever.
