Aaron Judge Injury Update, Return Timeline After Yankees Star Sees Specialist on Shoulder

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone provided an update on star right fielder Aaron Judge:

Boone previously revealed that initial imaging showed a bone bruise in his lower front shoulder.

Judge was out of New York's lineup for a matchup with the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday and is considered day-to-day moving forward.

Boone also explained that Judge was dealing with shoulder soreness for weeks before it became "more than that" during the Yankees' series with the Athletics that wrapped up on Sunday, per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

While New York won two of its three games against the Athletics, Judge only hit .167 with a .452 OPS during the series.

Injuries haven't been a major issue for the three-time American League MVP as of late, appearing in at least 152 games during each of the past two seasons.

This year, he suited up in each of the Yankees' first 59 contests.

Despite Judge's recent struggles at the plate, he's remained productive to open his 2026 campaign. He's racked up 10 doubles, 17 home runs, 38 RBI and 42 walks while compiling a .907 OPS.

It would be a tough blow to the Yankees if Judge is forced to miss more time, as they currently hold the second-best record among all AL teams at 36-25.
