A.J. Brown Reveals Reaction to Patriots Trade, Eagles Exit in Trending Video, 'This is My Team'

A.J. Brown's trade to the New England Patriots was the culmination of a drawn-out saga, and it's something the star wide receiver has contemplated for longer than a lot of people realize.

Speaking with Maria Taylor on 7PM in Brooklyn, Brown compared Monday to Christmas Day and said playing for New England is something he dreamed about. The three-time Pro Bowler even had a Patriots rug, which he purchased while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, at his house to reflect his fandom:

Brown had plenty of time to mentally absorb a change of scenery before it happened. His exit from Philly was expected for months, and the Patriots emerged as the only team seriously weighing up a trade.

That made it easy to plan for life in New England.

Brown is a Mississippi native and attended Ole Miss for college, so he's well outside of the Pats' sphere of influence. Having been born in 1997, though, his formative years as an NFL fan came when the franchise was in the midst of its dynastic run.

That kind of success always widens a team's following. There are plenty of people around the country who, like Brown, hopped aboard the New England bandwagon in the 2000s and 2010s.

Patriots fans were excited enough about the trade as is. Brown's remarks to Taylor will only heighten that enthusiasm.
