Odell Beckham Jr., JuJu Smith-Schuster's Giants Contract Details Revealed in New NFL Rumors

Adam WellsJun 2, 2026

The New York Giants' splurge for wide receivers on Monday, including reuniting with Odell Beckham Jr., came at very little financial risk for the club.

Per ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Beckham, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios all signed veteran minimum contracts with the Giants and will be competing for roster spots throughout training camp.

Since all three players have at least seven years of NFL service time, their minimum salary for the 2026 season is $1.3 million.

The Giants announced all three signings on Monday. Beckham's return to New York had been speculated for some time after he took a physical and had a workout for team officials in April.

One notable thing about the Giants signing three receivers is what it could indicate as far as Malik Nabers' recovery from a knee injury is concerned.

Nabers tore his ACL and meniscus in Week 4 last season, but it took one month after the injuries initially occurred for him to have surgery.

The Athletic's Dan Duggan reported on May 13 that Nabers had a second "clean up" procedure earlier in the spring to remove scar tissue that was causing stiffness in his knee.

Giants head coach John Harbaugh recently told reporters the hope is Nabers will be ready for the start of the regular season, but his recovery is "not a simple" process from this type of injury.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has also expressed concern about the way the Giants are talking about Nabers' recovery, noting that they are making it sound like Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys is "in jeopardy."

The Giants have brought in six wide receivers this offseason via free agency or the draft. They signed Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III in March, then drafted Malachi Fields in the third round.

None of their recent additions are making so much money that it would require the Giants to carry them on the 53-man roster when the season begins, but they have given themselves a wide variety of options in the event Nabers can't go in Week 1.

Beckham, who spent his first five NFL seasons with the Giants, last played for the Miami Dolphins in 2024. He was released by Miami in December 2024 and later received a six-game suspension from the league for failing a PED test.

During his nine games with the Dolphins, Beckham caught just nine passes for 55 yards. He averaged 1,095 receiving yards in his first stint with the Giants from 2014 to '18.
