Myles Garrett Writes Farewell Post After Blockbuster Rams Trade, Gave Browns 'Everything I Had'
Myles Garrett became a Cleveland Browns legend even when the team struggled at times during his tenure, and he reflected back on "nine unforgettable years" after the club traded him to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday.
"What I can say with complete honesty is this: I gave this city everything I had," he wrote while also thanking the team, his fans and the entire community. "I suited up and wore those colors with pride, and I don't regret a second of being part of this storied franchise. Every Sunday. Every offseason. Every play. Every down. Every moment. You gave me more in return than I can ever repay."

Did the Eagles Get Enough for AJB?
Cleveland selected Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NFL draft, and he managed to exceed the sky-high expectations that surrounded his arrival.
His resume includes two Defensive Player of the Year awards, five First-Team All-Pro selections, seven Pro Bowl nods and eight straight seasons of double-digit sacks. The most notable of those eight seasons came in 2025 when he set the all-time record with 23 sacks in a single year.
He also took home the Defensive Player of the Year and was a significant bright spot on a team that went 5-12.
And that was a consistent theme for Garrett in Cleveland.
While he was consistently among the league's best players, the Browns made the playoffs just twice in his nine years. They also won just one postseason game and never seemed like true Super Bowl threats even with the future Hall of Famer on the defensive line.
A Lombardi Trophy is the one glaring absence from his list of accomplishments, and he will have the chance to change that with the Rams. After all, Los Angeles was a win away from the Super Bowl last season and lost by four points in the NFC Championship Game to the Seattle Seahawks.
Perhaps if Garrett was on the defense, the Rams would have won that game.
As for the Browns, they at least got something of value in return with defensive end Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round draft pick, a 2028 second-round draft pick and a 2029 third-round draft pick. Verse was a Pro Bowler in each of his first two seasons in the league and could anchor their defensive line for years to come.
But he has massive shoes to fill.
