Larry Fitzgerald Reveals Heartwarming Marvin Harrison Jr. Story, 'Always Pulling' for Cardinals WR
Larry Fitzgerald is a big fan of Marvin Harrison Jr.
The Arizona Cardinals legend told a story on Tyrann Mathieu's In the Bayou podcast about the time his son, Devin—who will play for Notre Dame in the 2026 season—met Harrison and picked his brain for 45 minutes.
"Devin met him at a restaurant over here two years ago, his rookie year, and he didn't know Devin from Adam. And Devin didn't even tell him who he was. He said, 'Hey, my name is Devin and I play football here locally.' And Marv spent 45 minutes out there on the bench, in front of the restaurant after he just got done eating—on a practice night—and chopped it up with my son," Fitzgerald said. "And at the end of the conversation he told him, 'Hey, you know, my dad used to play for the Cardinals.' Whoopty Whoop. And [Harrison] was like, 'Really?' Like that was not even a part of the conversation until the very end. So me personally, I'm always pulling for Marvin Jr. I want to see him go crazy. I hope he goes for 1,500 [yards], 20 touchdowns and does his thing."

Harrison, 23, was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft by the Cardinals. He hasn't quite lived up to that billing just yet, catching 103 passes for 1,493 yards and 12 touchdowns across two seasons (29 games).
But he has a big fan in Hall of Famer Fitzgerald. And you can bet that if Harrison ever wants to bend the elder Fitzgerald's ear and get some advice about thriving at the position, he'll have a more-than-willing mentor.
