Players To Watch
2 of 2
Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA
The top prospect in college baseball, on the tournament's No. 1 overall seed, Cholowsky will have all eyes on him and his performance throughout regionals and beyond. Hitting .329 with a 1.123 OPS, 21 home runs, and 59 RBI, he has shown great pitch recognition, unquestionable power, and plate discipline for the Bruins.
His defense has opened eyes, too, thanks to his ability to throw from anywhere on the field and at several different angles. He does not make many mistakes and knows what to do and when.
Cholowsky can change the fortunes of his team with the swing of a bat or a jaw-dropping play at short, and is one of the few must-watch players in this tournament.
Jackson Flora, RHP, UC Santa Barbara
Flora is the top pitching prospect in the tournament and has been lights-out for UC Santa Barbara this season, accumulating a 1.05 ERA and giving up just two home runs in 15 appearances.
His 124 strikeouts are the highest of his collegiate career, and he averaged just 2.9 walks per nine innings, showing good command and not putting an abundance of runners on base.
The 21-year-old can make any opposing batter whiff with this fastball, too, making him an invaluable asset on the mound for his team.
Vahn Lackey, C, Georgia Tech
Lackey is a patient, disciplined hitter at the plate and makes consistent contact for the Yellow Jackets. A powerful slugger with the potential to produce home runs at the next level, he had his most productive season in college in 2026, with 18 home runs, 75 RBI, and a 1.307 OPS.
An agile athlete with a big arm, he has shown flashes of excellence behind the plate.
Lackey has also played a little third base, too, proving his adaptability.
