NASCAR Xfinity Series at Watkins Glen 2015: Results: Winner, Standings, Reaction

Brian MaziqueAug 8, 2015

Joey Logano won a chaotic Zippo 200 on Saturday at Watkins Glen in Watkins Glen, New York, as he edged fellow Team Penske driver Brad Keselowski for the win after the seventh restart of the race.

NASCAR on NBC congratulated Logano on his performance as he preps for Sunday's run at Watkins Glen in the Sprint Cup's Cheez-It 355. Team Penske continues to dominate the Xfinity series. Fox Sports NASCAR gave a shout-out to the Team Penske one-two combination:

Per the NBCSN broadcast, the team has captured 10 pole positions in the last 12 races. It has won four of the last seven and led 498 of 967 laps since 2011. It's safe to say it's pretty hot.

Team Penske drivers weren't the only ones getting hot on Saturday as tempers flared after the race. Regan Smith and Ty Dillon got into a scuffle when the former approached the latter about his tactics during the race.

NASCAR on NBC caught the skirmish and posted it on Twitter:

Smith was upset with Dillon for spinning him earlier in the race. Dillon also had contact with Paul Menard as well. Needless to say, he wasn't the most popular man at the track once the race concluded. Smith was still hot after the confrontation was broken up, and he vowed to personally hinder Dillon's efforts for the remainder of the Xfinity Series season, per Xfinity Series Racing:

Dillon was apologetic for what he called "two huge mistakes," during the race, per the NBCSN broadcast, but he said he was willing to settle his differences with Smith in the "bus lot" if need be, per Fox Sports NASCAR:

After the race, Dillon looked rattled from the confrontation as he struggled to get his breath during the post-race interview on the NBCSN broadcast. It's unclear whether Dillon will adjust his driving tactics after being confronted by an angry Smith, but the next few weeks just got a whole lot more interesting.

Buescher Still Leading

While Logano was winning and Smith and Dillon were nearly coming to blows, Chris Buescher was extending his series lead over Dillon and Chase Elliott to 24 points. Buescher's third-place finish wasn't exactly what he wanted, but it was good enough to make his stay atop the standings slightly more comfortable.

Here's a look at the top 10. Check NASCAR.com to see the full standings.

The third-place finish was Buescher's ninth top-five and 11th top-10 finish of the season. The nine top-five finishes and his two wins are tops in the series.

Heading into next week's Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio, Buescher will again be the man the field is gunning to beat. However, with the drama between Smith and Dillon, Buescher might be able to benefit from the chaos created by a bitter rivalry.

Next week is going to be fun.
