Is Bron Breakker Really A Lock to be WWE WrestleMania Main Event Superstar?

Philip LindseyMay 27, 2026

Bron Breakker undoubtedly has the tools to be a part of this generation of WWE main eventers, but many question if he will ever live up to the hype.

WWE recently announced that Logan Paul tore his tricep during his appearance on Saturday Night's Main Event, making him the fourth member of The Vision to sustain an injury. It's safe to say it's time to move on from the most snakebit act in recent memory, but where would that leave its breakout star?

After all, the Breakker's turn on Seth Rollins was one of the faction's few highlights. For better or worse, we all assumed the second-generation wrestler was destined to become a world champion, and his act of mutiny seemingly cemented it.

Still, he doesn't seem any closer to the crowning moment we've been waiting for, even though he defeated Rollins at Backlash. To that end, it's not a great sign that most fans are more interested in the inevitable showdown between his former mentor and Roman Reigns than his potential title shot.

Oba Femi has also taken the main roster by storm and gained much more momentum in 2026. That isn't to say that Breakker isn't still a valuable asset, but timing is everything–and it's not on his side right now.

WWE could assuredly right the ship with him this year, but will he ever live up to the high expectations set for him?

Believe The Hype

Ever since the premiere of NXT 2.0, the company has positioned Breakker as its next big superstar. Rebranding its developmental brand was a divisive decision, but the 28-year-old still stood out as a potential top guy.

This uber athletic amalgamation of his father, Rick Steiner, and uncle, Scott Steiner, has the look and the attitude. Even more, he can execute jaw-dropping feats of strength and the most devastating spear in the game.

When he's motivated, his promos are emphatic and charismatic. It isn't hard to tell how he converted many of his skeptics during his Royal Rumble debut in 2024 or his Intercontinental title reign.

CM Punk referred to him as the future of WWE. Rollins, The Rock, Goldberg, The Undertaker, and the late Hulk Hogan have praised his intensity, maturation, and work ethic. Paul Heyman compared his curiosity and ambition to the greats.

WrestleMania 42

That's high praise coming from someone who has seen the best do it on every level. "He's going to main event a dozen WrestleManias because he has youth, ability, strength, conditioning, and the discipline on his side," Heyman said

Breakker has shown so much promise. However, those are also lofty aspirations, and we've seen fans reject others heralded as the next up. In comparison, there has been a lot more show and less tell with Femi.

There are plenty of reasons to believe the hype, but WWE has to prove they're as invested in him. That's the last missing component. A competent and decisive push will allow viewers to witness what legends see in him.

The Verdict

Monday Night RAW

Breakker has everything it takes to become a future WrestleMania main eventer, and enough endorsements to validate his ascent. On paper, he is about as close to a sure thing as you can get.

Yes, he can overcome some questionable booking decisions and lingering apprehension to become a headliner. If WWE wants us to buy into him, it has to forgo all these half-measures and present him as such, though.

Most critics are still questioning whether he's a lock because the company still hasn't committed to a sustained run. More to the point, the main event scene has been impenetrable for younger stars, and it doesn't seem like that will change anytime soon.

Monday Night RAW

WWE's hesitancy to go all-in has caused much of the uncertainty surrounding Breakker at this point. Nevertheless, there's enough remaining anticipation and potential to believe he can headline The Show of Shows someday.

It may take a bit of patience, but we wouldn't sell off our stock in the blue-chipper just yet. Unfortunately, we have to wait until the old guard retires to see lasting results, but Breakker is still a safe bet.
