Tatsuya Imai, Astros Throw Combined No-Hitter in Win vs. Rangers, Box Score Stats, Highlights

Timothy RappMay 25, 2026

The Texas Rangers did not have a hit on Monday night.

The pitching staff of the Houston Astros combined to throw a no-hitter during a 9-0 win, led by starter Tatsuya Imai (six innings, two strikeouts, four walks). Relievers Steven Okert (one inning, one strikeout, one walk) and Alimber Santa (two innings, one strikeout) finished off the combined no-no.

It is the 327th no-hitter in MLB history and the 22nd combined no-no. It's Houston's fourth combined no-hitter, with the most famous coming in Game 4 of the 2022 World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Astros have 18 total no-hitters in their history.

The team hasn't had a ton to celebrate this season, starting just 24-31. Last year's team went 87-75 but missed the postseason for the first time since 2016, and there was the feeling to start the 2026 campaign that an era had come to a close.

But there is reason for optimism. Despite the rocky start, the Astros are just four games behind the AL West-leading Athletics (27-26). Given how poor the division has been, the Astros are far from dead in the playoff conversation. The team has also won four straight and eight of its last 12, perhaps turning a corner.

Nights like Monday night may serve as further evidence that the team can indeed turn things around. One way to win is to prevent the other team from getting a hit.
