Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski Sets MLB Record for Most 100-MPH Pitches in Single Game
Jacob Misiorowski was feeling it on Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Milwaukee Brewers' second-year starting pitcher set an MLB record for the most 100-mph pitches thrown in a single game with 57 in the 5-1 win. He also matched his career high with 12 strikeouts.
"That's what I do," Misiorowski told reporters. "I throw hard."

Misiorowski broke the record that previously belonged to Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene, who collected 47 100-plus mph pitches against the Cardinals in 2022.
Misiorowski's fastest pitch came in at 103.4 mph. Along with the 12 strikeouts, he gave up just two hits, a run and a walk.
Despite the historic day from Misiorowski, he said he felt like he did going into any other game.
"I feel like that's how it should be every day. I feel like that's where I'm at," he told reporters. "I think that's just my normalโฆ The tempo felt like I got it on and ready to go, so I kind of rode the wave on the mound and got it figured out."
The 24-year-old has been one of the best pitchers in the National League this year, recording the sixth-best ERA (1.83) and the fourth-best WHIP (0.83) in the majors while notching the second-most strikeouts (100) and a 5-2 record.
The outstanding second season hasn't exactly been a shock after he was named an All-Star as a rookie.
As far as the velocity goes, Misiorowski credited that to an offseason of training his lower body.
"In the offseason, that was the focus and I think it came out better on the other side," he said. "But yeah, I do feel stronger, but nothing crazy."
