
Paige Bueckers' Technical Foul for Clapping Rescinded by WNBA After Trending Wings vs. Dream Video
The WNBA rescinded the technical foul given to Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers during Friday night's 86-69 loss against the Atlanta Dream, per the Associated Press.
She was given a technical for clapping aggressively while the Wings were attempting to make a third-quarter comeback.
Bueckers said she was happy to avoid the $500 fine still be in the clear regarding her friendly wager with teammate Alysha Clark. She was surprised by the initial decision

"I was hyped and showing passion and joy and I got penalized for that," she told reporters. "... [I'd like the officials to] see that we were down a ton and we're making a run, so we're obviously going to be hyped up and showing a bunch of passion and joy and fire, like, that's what basketball's all about."
She did add that officials are being asked to call things a bit tighter this season.
"I know they're putting an emphasis on controlling the game more, not letting it get to be a bloodbath as much as it was last year," Bueckers said. "So I feel like they're putting an emphasis on that this season."
The 24-year-old is having a fantastic sophomore season, averaging 18.5 points and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 48 percent from three. Dallas came into Sunday with a 3-3 record as it looks to end a two-year playoff drought.
