One of the top seeds on the men's side at the French Open fell in the first round on Sunday.

Basavareddy will now play either Kazakhstan's Alexander Shevchenko or the United States' Alex Michelsen in the second round. Full results and the bracket can be found here.
The 21-year-old Basavareddy was making his French Open debut on Sunday and had played just five tour-level matches this year, but that didn't keep him from backing down against the veteran Fritz.
Fritz delivered 71 winners compared to 51 from Basavareddy, who saved three of the four break points he faced. It was the first top-10 win for Basavareddy, who had lost his previous three matchups against top opponents and came into Sunday's matchup ranked 154th.
While it's a disappointing result for Fritz, he has an excuse for the early exit. The 28-year-old has been dealing with a knee injury since the Miami Open in March and didn't get much ramp-up time coming into Roland-Garros. He played in the Geneva Open last week, losing in the second round, but that was his only action in between the Miami Open and the French Open.
Fritz will now turn his attention to ensuring he's fully healthy for Wimbledon next month.
Meanwhile, Basavareddy will look to use the momentum from the big win to propel him to a deep run at the French Open. He also reached the second round of the Australian Open this year but has yet to make it further than that at a Grand Slam event.
