Arkansas vs. Texas Prediction
2 of 3
The Texas Longhorns may enter Friday's match-up with the Arkansas Razorbacks without senior righty Ruger Rijoas due to shoulder tendinitis, and Dylan Volantis pitching out of the bullpen, but the team has built confidence through its offense in recent games.
Against UTSA, the Longhorns put up 11 runs on nine hits. They continued the onslaught two days later against Missouri, throwing up six on seven hits.
The bats have come alive for the Longhorns and, combined with a pitching staff that managed 550 strikeouts for the fourth time in six seasons, the team is a more well-rounded squad than their opponents on Friday, who live and die by their power bats.
The bat of Anthony Pack Jr. (.360/.479/.559) and the dominant stuff of closer Sam Cozart (1.59 ERA, 0.640 WHIP) could prove to be difference makers.
Prediction: Texas hits its way to the semis
Auburn vs. Texas A&M Prediction
3 of 3
Offense will be the name of the game in Friday's main event, a showdown between two potent offenses capable of blowing the game wide open.
The Texas A&M Aggies enter the showdown with two of the best power hitters in the conference in Caden Sorrell and Gavin Grahovac. Sorrell has hit .343/.434/.768, with 23 home runs and 74 RBI. Grahovac is hitting .351/.436/.725, with 19 home runs and 71 RBI.
The team will need those two to come up big against against a red-hot Auburn team that has a deeper lineup that can produce from the one spot to the ninth. Chris Rembert is not the big-bat scorer that Sorrell and Grahovac are but he gets on base (.403), has 42 RBI to his name, and has stolen 10 bags in 2026.
Despite the two powerful offenses, though, the game may come down to which team has the most disciplined pitching staff.
The Aggies compile strikeouts, sitting opposing batters down at a 3.11 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The Tigers avoid walks, making the opposing team earn every base they get.
Auburn bested Texas A&M in two of their three games this season and if they are able to slow the opposing bats, will improve that record and move into the semifinals of the tournament.
That is a big "if," though.
Prediction: Texas A&M overpowers Auburn, advances
