Schefter Predicts A.J. Brown Trade in Reaction to New Jaguars, Rams Rumors amid Patriots-Eagles Buzz
Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown has been expected to be traded to the New England Patriots for quite some time, but some feel there's still a chance for other teams to swoop in and steal him away.
However, ESPN's Adam Schefter explained during the latest episode of his podcast that he still feels the Patriots will be the team that acquires Brown from the Eagles.
"Now we're starting to hear about other teams entering the mix. I was on a Philadelphia radio show this morning. They brought up the idea that the [Los Angeles] Rams could be getting back in. They brought up the idea that the [Jacksonville] Jaguars could be getting back in. All of a sudden, that's interesting," Schefter said around the 10:38 mark. "I will remain in the camp that we've been in for the last six, seven weeks, which is that I still think he's getting traded. I still think he's getting traded on or shortly after June 1st. I still think that the New England Patriots are going away as the lead contender to land A.J. Brown this offseason."

The Eagles would reduce the amount of dead money they incur from trading Brown by waiting until after June 1 to ship him out of Philadelphia. The Patriots have long been linked to the three-time Pro Bowler due to his connection with head coach Mike Vrabel, who had coached him for the first three years of his career with the Tennessee Titans.
Schefter went on to note that teams like the Rams and Jags already had their chances to try to convince the Eagles to trade Brown, but the Patriots seem poised to get it done.
"There were conversations with the Rams that did not result in a deal. I don't know about Jacksonville, I don't even know where that's coming from," Schefter said. But I still think that the New England Patriots make the most sense."
