'F--k Who This May Offend,' Ronda Rousey Declares Herself the Best Ever in Emotional Retirement Post

After defeating Gina Carano in just 17 seconds on Saturday night, Ronda Rousey is officially ready to close the book on her legendary MMA career.

Rousey posted a lengthy retirement announcement on Instagram, confirming that she has no plans to continue fighting and hopes to focus on her family and having more children. In her post, the 39-year-old declared herself the best to ever have graced the sport of MMA.

"I love MMA, I love judo, pro wrestling, fight choreography, acting, and writing - but I am before anything else a martial artist," Rousey stated (h/t Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting). "I'm better at MMA than I ever was at anything else - And f--k who this may offend, but I am the best to have ever done it and nothing can compare to the experience of creating within my craft. I am the one fortunate enough to experience that level of mastery and I'll never let anyone shame me away from embracing it ever again."

In her first fight since 2016, Rousey turned back the clock with a vintage, speedy performance that ended with her patented armbar submission. Carano, who is also a pioneer of women's MMA, was fighting for the first time since 2009.

Rousey thanked Carano for reigniting her passion for MMA and reiterated that she has no plans of fighting again.

"The fight is over, it's bittersweet because for the first time the experience of preparing for the fight eclipsed the joy any victory could have brought," she wrote. "But I'm finally ready to move on, this time with my head held high. Thank you, Gina."
