Rashee Rice Undergoes Surgery on Knee Injury, Latest Timeline for Chiefs Star
Kansas City Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice reportedly had loose debris removed from his right knee on Tuesday and will be out of commission for the next two months, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
He is still expected to be ready for training camp, however.
Rice, 26, caught 53 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns last season. In his three-year career he's registered 156 catches for 1,797 and 14 touchdowns.
He's a key weapon for Kansas City, pairing with tight end Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy and running back Kenneth Walker to give quarterback Patrick Mahomes a solid suite of offensive playmakers.
Much of the work to further build out that chemistry will have to wait, however. Between Rice's injury and Mahomes recovering from a torn ACL and MCL in mid-December—which could potentially even cost him time to start the NFL season—the Chiefs won't be at full strength for some time.
