'Wow,' Michael Pittman Jr. Reacts to Aaron Rodgers' 1st OTA Practice After Steelers Contract
Michael Pittman Jr. has spent the first few months of his Pittsburgh Steelers career unsure of who he would be catching passes from, but now he's getting to work with one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
The wide receiver, who was traded from the Indianapolis Colts in March, had his first practice with Aaron Rodgers on Monday after the veteran re-signed with the Steelers over the weekend.
Pittman was starstruck during his first practice with the future Hall of Famer.
"Even in the first day, he made a couple of great throws, and I was like, wow, I'm really playing with Aaron," Pittman told reporters. "It's great. I mean, I get to play with another Hall of Fame quarterback because I got to play with Philip Rivers. I'm going to say he's going to make it. So this is my second."
After a solid season with the Steelers last year, it was unclear whether Rodgers planned to re-sign, retire or head to another team. After a long period of waiting, Pittsburgh got its answer as Rodgers signed a one-year deal worth up to $25 million.
Pittman is one of a few upgrades the Steelers made to their offense this offseason, as they also drafted wide receiver Germie Bernard in the second round.
The additional weapons on offense perhaps influenced Rodgers' decision to return, and the Steelers will look to make what could be his final season a good one.
