Saturday's Most Valuable Promotions MMA card was a lucrative one for some of the biggest names in the sport.

Damon Martin of MMA Fighting reported the California State Athletic Commission released the salaries for Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano, Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz, Philipe Lins and Mike Perry:

FighterSaturday Salary
Ronda Rousey$2.2 million
Francis Ngannou$1.5 million
Gina Carano$1.05 million
Nate Diaz$500,000
Mike Perry$400,000
Philipe Lins$100,000

Martin noted each of the fighters were paid a flat fee, meaning there was no show-win bonus.

The overarching theme of the entire card was comebacks to the sport for headliner names.

Rousey defeated Carano in a mere 17 seconds via an armbar submission. It was the UFC Hall of Famer's first professional fight since back-to-back losses in 2015 and 2016, and she looked much more like her dominant self fans grew accustomed to seeing during the peak of her career.

As for Ngannou, he had zero trouble with a first-round knockout win over Philipe Lins.

He then made headlines in the aftermath when he called out Jon Jones:

The fight between Diaz and Perry did not end in the first round, although it didn't go much longer. Perry won via a second-round TKO because of a doctor stoppage when Diaz was left bloodied after a cut opened on his head.

It was Diaz's first MMA fight since September 2022 and Perry's first since April 2021.

While Saturday's card was through MVP MMA and not the UFC, the latter made headlines as well when it announced the long-anticipated return of Conor McGregor.

Rousey told reporters the timing of such an announcement was "catty" (2:30 mark) and an indication "they see MVP MMA as a threat that they would do that at that moment and do that at that time."

Taking home such significant paychecks could also contribute to that overall feeling.
