Jake Paul Rips 'Insecure' Dana White for Announcing Conor McGregor vs. Holloway During Ngannou Spot

Joseph ZuckerMay 17, 2026

Jake Paul shrugged off UFC's announcement of Conor McGregor's return, which came during Most Valuable Promotions' MMA event on Saturday night.

"Drop it during our event. Does it matter?" Paul said at the 10:27 mark of his post-fight press conference. "That just shows how pressed they are. Little insecure boys trying to piggyback off of our event and try to put some news over top of us. It's not gonna work buddy."

UFC president Dana White confirmed McGregor's long awaited return to the Octagon will happen on July 11. He'll go up against Max Holloway, whom he earned a unanimous decision over in 2013.

Perhaps not coincidentally, the news came out as Francis Ngannou was walking out for his fight with Philipe Lins on Saturday. The former UFC champion won with a first-round knockout.

Ngannou, who has his own history with White, was similarly unmoved by the timing:

Nobody will claim that MVP is seriously threatening the UFC's crown as the premier MMA promotion in the world. But dropping something as big as McGregor's comeback during an MVP show certainly gives the impression the UFC sees MVP as competition.
