The second leg of the Triple Crown wrapped up on Saturday, as Napoleon Solo won the 151st running of the Preakness Stakes.

After Taj Mahal set the pace from the No. 1 post position and stayed in front through the half, Napoleon Solo took the lead into the stretch and held off the rest of the field to emerge victorious.

$1.2 million of the race's $2 million total purse came with the victory.

Napoleon Solo is trained by Chad Summers. The three-year-old colt previously finished No. 5 in two races this year including the Fountain of Youth (Grade 2) and Wood Memorial (Grade 2).

This year's Preakness took place at Laurel Park in Maryland, temporarily moving away from the race's traditional location in Baltimore as Pimlico Race Course undergoes significant renovations.

The opportunity for a Triple Crown chase to continue didn't occur as Golden Tempo, the winner of the 2026 Kentucky Derby, was not entered into the race in order to prepare for the Belmont Stakes instead.

Ocelli participated in Saturday's race after finishing at No. 3 in the Derby, ending the Preakness in the No. 4 position.
