Azzi Fudd Explains Beef with Warriors' Stephen Curry Dating Back to UConn Career

Scott PolacekMay 15, 2026

Stephen Curry never attended one of Azzi Fudd's games when the latter starred at UConn, and she let the Golden State Warriors star know about it.

Curry was a guest on the latest episode of her Fudd Around and Find Out podcast, and she brought that up at the 30-minute mark.

"We still have beef," Fudd said. "I have a bone to pick with you. I was in college for five years. Five years, granted, I didn't play a lot of those games. That's still five years of opportunity that you had to come to a game. And you didn't."

Curry, of course, was playing in the NBA during her collegiate career and pointed out as much as the two were clearly having fun with the entire exchange.

"I'm going to deflect the blame," he said. "You're right. I'm going to deflect the blame on Adam Silver for not scheduling us in the Northeast at a certain point. Or at least giving us a day off when you all were in the tournament."

He also jokingly put some of the blame on the Warriors for drafting him since he could have attended UConn games if he played for the New York Knicks or another team in the Northeast.

Curry said he would make up for it by attending a Dallas Wings game after the WNBA team selected Fudd with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2026 draft. She figures to be a franchise building block alongside former UConn teammate Paige Bueckers.

With that as the backdrop, don't be surprised to see Curry in attendance on June 17 when the Wings are on the road and facing the Golden State Valkyries.

The future Hall of Famer told Fudd he plans on attending that game, and he will surely be greeted with quite the welcome from the Golden State crowd.

Perhaps if he cheers for Fudd and the Wings even against the Golden State team, that will help him make up for the fact he never saw the guard suit up for UConn in person.
