Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry Judges' Scorecards, Fight Stats and Prize Money

Mike Perry claimed a second-round TKO win over Nate Diaz on the main card of MVP MMA 1 in welterweight action.

Perry wasted no time putting his plan into motion. He came out swinging with bad intentions and a hope to finish the fight early. Diaz didn't have early answers in the striking, but did have a few successful takedowns early in the round. 

Diaz looked gassed even in the opening frame, but maintained his signature willingness to throw hands. 

The chaos continued into the second round. Perry put the pressure on Diaz and turned down an invite to enter Diaz's guard on the ground at one point. 

Perry opened a gushing cut on Diaz's forehead during the round, forcing the corner to call the fight between rounds and give Platinum the win.

The crowd wasn't too pleased with the stoppage, but it's hard to argue with the visual of Diaz donning the crimson mask:

The win marks Perry's first in MMA since June 2020 when he defeated Mickey Gall via decision on a UFC on ESPN card. It was Perry's return to the sport for the frist time since April 2021.

After a 1-4 stretch in the UFC, Perry split from the UFC and transitioned to bare-knuckle boxing. Platinum has found a home in the sport, going 6-0 with wins over former big names in MMA such as Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens.

Perry also made an appearance in gloved boxing when he lost to Jake Paul via sixth-round TKO in July 2024.

Now that Perry has an MMA win on a Paul card, he'd like to get a rematch with The Problem Child on the books. This time, with MMA rules.

"Jake has mentioned that he'd be interested in fighting Nate (in MMA) if Nate was able to be successful, but, you know, so I'm looking to go out May 16th, give it everything I've got, dominate and see if Jake goes running scared or if he wants to fight an MMA fight. Let's do it," Perry told reporters before this fight.

Paul has called out Diaz about a potential MMA fight, but he is still currently recovering from the boken jaw that he suffered in his boxing match with Anthony Joshua.

His ability to get big-name matchups in boxing makes an MMA fight with Perry feel unlikely, but Perry definitely helped himself with this win.
