This was a great match with plenty of highlights.
Page made his main roster debut as an NXT call-up on the Raw after WrestleMania 42, and he quickly made it clear that he was targeting Penta and the IC title.
He won his first match as a Raw Superstar, beating Je'Von Evans, and then teamed with Rusev on the May 4 episode of Raw to defeat Penta and Evans.
Given his immediate success, Page was granted an Intercontinental Championship opportunity against Penta for SNME.
While Page undoubtedly posed a threat after holding the NXT and North American Championships, he had to deal with a red-hot Penta, who has been on a roll for months.
Penta won his first title in WWE of any kind back in March when he beat Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship, and he followed that up with several successful defenses.
Challengers such as Dirty Dom, El Grande Americano, Dragon Lee, Kofi Kingston, El Hijo del Vikingo and Rusev all went by the wayside.
Penta even outlasted five Superstars in a ladder match at WrestleMania 42, beating Rusev, Evans, Lee, Rey Mysterio and JD McDonagh to retain.
Page presented a different type of challenge, though, as a conniving heel willing to break any and every rule in order to come out on top.
Despite that, Penta rose to the occasion once again, and he retained his title once again at Saturday Night's Main Event.
