Caitlin Clark shined as the Indiana Fever won their first game of the 2026 WNBA season, taking down Cameron Brink and the Los Angeles Sparks by the final score of 87-78 on Wednesday night.

Clark finished with a team-high 24 points and nine assists to go along with four rebounds, two steals and one block in the victory. She shot 9-of-17 from the field despite going 1-of-7 from behind the arc.

The two-time All-Star got off to a hot start, recording seven points in the first two minutes of the game.

Clark wasn't able to continue building momentum while the first quarter started to wind down, as her layup attempt was blocked by Brink with just over two minutes left in the opening period.

Still, Indiana's defense limited Los Angeles to a mere 14 points in the second quarter while Clark found her teammates on multiple occasions.

Indiana led 48-34 at halftime.

The Sparks couldn't overcome the deficit in the second half despite only trailing 83-76 late in the fourth quarter, as the Fever improved to 1-1 after dropping their season-opener to the Dallas Wings on Saturday.

Brink ended the game with 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks in 19 minutes off the bench.

Clark was far from the only contributor for the Fever, as Kelsey Mitchell scored 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting. Sophie Cunningham also chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds.

While Clark is only shooting 3-of-16 from three-point territory through her first two appearances of the 2026 season, it's an encouraging sign that she's still averaging 22.0 points per game.

The Fever will look to move to 2-1 in their next matchup, a clash with the Washington Mystics on Friday.
