Cal Raleigh Took Shower in Full Mariners Jersey Day Before Snapping 0-for-38 Slump
Drastic times required drastic measures for Cal Raleigh, who took extra steps to wash away all of the bad vibes that contributed to his 0-for-38 hitting slump before getting two hits in the Seattle Mariners' win over the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo told reporters after the win that Raleigh took a shower wearing his full uniform following Monday's game against the Astros.

Raleigh confirmed the story and revealed he got the idea from Mariners starter Logan Gilbert.
"Logan gave me some good advice to wash off the bad mojo or juju from the baseball gods," Raleigh said. "So yeah, it worked. He was right, so I got to give him credit where credit's due."
"We were all screaming for him, and it was a lot of relief, for sure, and I know it felt good for Cal," Mariners manager Dan Wilson said.
Raleigh snapped his hitless streak in the seventh inning with a single off Astros reliever Jayden Murray, then added another single in the top of the ninth. It was his first multihit game since April 25.
The seventh-inning single broke Raleigh's hitless streak that started on April 28. His streak of 38 consecutive at-bats without a hit was the longest for any player this season.
Raleigh, the 2025 AL MVP runner-up, is now hitting .166/.249/.325 in 177 plate appearances. Even though it's not the slash line he wants, getting two hits in one game could be a sign of better things to come.
The Mariners have won 11 of their last 18 games since a 10-15 start. They have moved within one game of the Athletics for first place in the AL West.
