Joe Burrow, Bengals Will Play Falcons in Madrid, Date Unveiled Ahead of 2026 NFL Schedule Release

The Cincinnati Bengals will play the Atlanta Falcons in The Bernabéu in Madrid, Spain on Sunday, November 8.

The NFL announced the game a day ahead of the league's official schedule release on Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m. ET.

Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow was likely pleased to hear the news after previously campaigning to play in Madrid on Instagram in March 2025.

That post came after rumors swirled that Cincinnati could play the Miami Dolphins in Madrid last season. However, the Washington Commanders ended up facing them instead.

The matchup will be a Week 9 contest, and it will start at 9:30 a.m. ET.

This is the first time Burrow, who began his NFL career in 2020, will be playing an International Series game.

This is the third time the Bengals have played in Europe and the first time in Spain. They previously played in London's Wembley Stadium in 2016 and 2019, tying Washington and losing to the Los Angeles Rams, respectively.

As for the 2026 season, the NFL will host nine international games, with three in London and one each in Madrid, Mexico City, Melbourne, Munich, Rio de Janeiro and Paris.

Two other games have been announced. The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will play Week 1 in Melborune, and the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens will play Week 3 in Rio de Janeiro.
