Jacob Fatu Is Becoming Undeniable, The Division WWE Is Acing Right Now, More Raw Fallout

Kevin BergeMay 12, 2026

The immediate fallout from Backlash was the defining focus of the May 11 edition of Raw at the Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jacob Fatu faced the ire of Roman Reigns, only to show off his uncontrollable rage, wiping out The Tribal Chief and The Usos in his wake.

Oba Femi's own rage was on display as he forced Angel and Berto to fight him in a quick, dominant handicap squash.

Asuka said goodbye for now to Iyo Sky and the WWE Universe ahead of The Genius of the Sky picking up another win over Sol Ruca.

"All Ego" Ethan Page drove Rusev to fight Je'Von Evans to distract from his pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship. The Young OG picked up the win.

This was not the most exciting night of action, but it did clearly indicate the best stories in WWE right now.

WWE Must Commit to Jacob Fatu as an Unstoppable Force

1 of 5

Jacob Fatu left Backlash with a loss, but he also built up more hype behind him than ever before.

His dominance over Roman Reigns forced The OTC to cheat to defeat The Samoan Werewolf, and he showed again at the end of Raw that he cannot handle Fatu.

Few have manhandled Reigns over the years like The Samoan Werewolf, and WWE cannot let that momentum go to waste.

When Fatu and Reigns collide again, the result must change. The Samoan Werewolf cannot lose to The Tribal Chief a second time.

If Fatu does lose, it will ruin any chance for WWE to make him a true top monster threat who could genuinely stand up to rising stars such as Oba Femi.

Intercontinental Championship Scene is Thriving

2 of 5

Is the most vibrant title scene in WWE right now focused on the Intercontinental Championship? Yes, it is.

While most of the championship pictures have been quickly whittled down to one champion and one challenger, Penta has three clear contenders on the horizon.

The dynamic between "All Ego" Ethan Page, Je'Von Evans and Rusev is also delightful chaos so far where each man is playing the others in pursuit of gold.

This title scene has already allowed Page to immediately show off his character while also giving a strong spotlight to Evans, who has improved immensely on the mic.

Rusev is also getting a chance to stretch his dramatic and comedic muscles playing off these stars while the intercontinental champion has shown his fearless fire in the face of each unique challenge.

WWE must find a way to keep this dynamic going, not by setting up just a Fatal 4-Way match but rather giving each competitor a separate shot one-on-one against Penta in the coming months.

This can lead to Page eventually winning the gold and then finding himself chased by the same men he passed to get the title.

Asuka is a 1st-Ballot WWE Hall of Famer

In the aftermath of Iyo Sky's win over Asuka at Backlash, The Empress of Tomorrow showed unbridled joy for her former rival, indicating she might be saying goodbye to Sky and WWE.

On Raw, Asuka clarified that she was leaving for now, though it is unclear when she will return.

In that time, many have come out in support of the 44-year-old, who holds a strong claim to be the best pure in-ring female worker in WWE history.

While The Four Horsewomen started the Women's Evolution, it was Asuka who raised the bar further for women's performance.

She has delivered some of the greatest matches in WWE history, which should include her most recent contest with Sky on Saturday.

With four women's world titles to her name alongside five tag title reigns, her legacy is set as one of the greatest of all time.

Whenever she does truly choose to retire, Asuka should be a first-ballot WWE Hall of Famer, immediately inducted and headlining her class.

Iyo Sky is WWE's Greatest In-Ring Performer...Male or Female

4 of 5
Monday Night RAW

In 2025, Iyo Sky delivered time and again with her opportunities, including stealing the show with Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41.

Going into 2026, The Genius of the Sky was seemingly set to run with Ripley as an unstoppable tag team.

While Sky and The Eradicator did get a title run together, they were quickly separated, allowing both to shine as solo acts again.

After what may be match of the year with Asuka, Sky followed up with a showcase against Sol Ruca that immediately showed off why WWE believes in Ruca.

Ripley is the biggest star in the women's division, but The Genius of the Sky has outshined her in terms of pure in-ring work once again.

Commentator Michael Cole has said multiple times that Sky is the best in the world, and she is backing up his words with performances that no one else in WWE can match.

Who else can work at her pace with her fluidity and athleticism? Who has told more stories in the ring with a variety of different opponents?

The answer is no one, which is why The Genius of the Sky is the best right now.

Oba Femi Needs Better Opponents Immediately

5 of 5
Monday Night RAW

A few weeks of squashing low-level competition is one thing, but Oba Femi spending the months following a win over Brock Lesnar crushing wrestlers not even on TV otherwise is a waste of time.

Moreover, it is a waste of talent. Femi and Otis looked good together in a short time, but The Ruler burying Los Garzas together in less than a minute only makes them look worse.

Angel and Berto should be helping solidify the low-card foundation of one of WWE's barely functional men's tag team divisions.

Femi should be fighting bigger names such as Je'Von Evans, Ethan Page, Dominik Mysterio, both El Grande Americanos, Rey Mysterio and even setting the stage for matches with LA Knight, Seth Rollins and Jacob Fatu.

Nothing was accomplished this week with The Ruler's segment, and fans get bored sooner or later with even the most exciting performers if they don't have real stories to tell.
