Watch Harbaugh, Giants' Excitement as Titans Draft Tate over Reese in Behind-the Scenes Video
The New York Giants provided a peek behind the curtain as the first round of the 2026 NFL draft unfolded.
The team released a video last Friday chronicling the events in its war room and what happened after Round 1 wrapped up.
Coach John Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen couldn't hide their excitement when the Tennessee Titans took Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate with the fourth overall pick. That cleared a path for New York to select Buckeyes edge-rusher/linebacker Arvell Reese.

"We got our guy," Harbaugh told those in the room.
Reese had 6.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss as a junior in 2025. He was the fourth overall player on Bleacher Report's final big board.
When the Giants had one of the worst defenses in the league, focusing on that side of the ball with their first pick was the obvious play. B/R's Brent Sobleski gave them an A grade for taking Reese.
"Clearly, head coach John Harbaugh brought a bit of the Baltimore Ravens with him to New York, because his previous team was known for getting great value on the regular," Sobleski wrote.
"The fascinating aspect of Reese's inclusion is that he's not currently an ideal fit. But he's too talented to bypass. He's not going to help cover up Tremaine Edmunds' issues working in space. The Giants already have a ton invested in their edge rusher. However, this pick could tip an eventual Kayvon Thibodeaux trade."
A lot of fans in the Big Apple presumably shared Harbaugh's enthusiasm when New York's turn came and Reese was still available.
