Bazzana has already appeared in 24 games with Triple-A Columbus this year, hitting .287 with two home runs and 10 RBI to go along with 11 doubles.
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt confirmed that the team was looking for more offensive production by calling up Bazzana.
"I think with the way he was swinging the bat in Triple-A and with the need on the team, we kind of need a little jolt. But at the same time, it was the right timing," Vogt said, per Joe Reedy of the Associated Press. "This is a hitter with power, can hit the ball to all fields, great base runner and can play some second base."
In eight games with the Guardians heading into Friday's action, Bazzana recorded five hits and four stolen bases while slashing .192/.382/.192.
