Caitlin Clark Opens Up on LeBron James Friendship, Talks 'Bucket List' Golf Outing
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is one of the few people who fully comprehends the daily experience of the Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark, and he has tried to impart some of his wisdom on the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
Clark told ESPN's Malika Andrews that James "has just been there to support me more than anything."
"He understands the microscope that I'm under and the spotlight that's on me," she said.
James also touched base midway through the 2025 season to help in any way he could as Clark was sidelined through injury. She was limited to 13 games, a disappointing follow-up to her record-breaking rookie campaign.
LeBron's new passion for golf is something they've find common ground over as well.
"That's next on our bucket list, is to play golf together," she said.
Clark suggested she and James "might be chasing the ball a lot" because neither is a scratch golfer. But she definitely has an experience advantage on the four-time NBA MVP. She told Big Ten Network she first picked up a club when she was in the third or fourth grade.
King James would probably meet his match if he and Clark ever manage to arrange a round.
