Modern-Day WWE Dream Matches Triple H Must Book
After one of the most disappointing WrestleMania seasons in recent WWE history and growing controversy around the direction TKO is taking the company, it is time for Triple H and WWE Creative to book modern‑day dream matches to help bring fans back to the product.
There are ample options for SummerSlam, Survivor Series or even next year's WrestleMania, which risks further alienating fans by being held in Saudi Arabia. WWE has plenty of matchups intriguing enough to get hardcore and casual fans alike to tune into weekly programming.
Here are the modern-day dream matches WWE must book to save face with the fans.
Roman Reigns vs. The Rock
There is no bigger potential dream match WWE could book right now than its most popular performer, Roman Reigns, standing toe-to-toe with his cousin, one of the biggest draws in mainstream media today, The Rock.
Reigns and The Bloodline storyline has been the best part of WWE for years, and with a distinct lack of excitement surrounding the rest of the product—too many ads, lackluster wrestling and poorly built Superstars—putting The Tribal Chief back on top as world champion makes sense.
The problem now is that Reigns needs a viable challenger. While Jacob Fatu is a good story, no one in the WWE Universe thinks he can beat the champion unless Reigns is taking another sabbatical.
That's where The Rock comes into play.
Once Reigns clears the current main roster of contenders, it will be time for The Great One to make his triumphant return to WWE and confront Reigns.
The Rock should claim he's the real breadwinner in the family, and their rivalry should culminate in a championship match at WrestleMania 43.
Reigns should beat The Rock and ensure he's the top dog in WWE for the foreseeable future.
Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther
Despite WWE's best efforts to make fans believe Brock Lesnar has retired following his WrestleMania loss to Oba Femi, there is one more chapter yet to be written in his career.
SummerSlam 2026 is taking place on August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, giving Lesnar the home-field advantage over any possible challenger. There is only one man worthy of the true retirement match, though, and that's Gunther.
The Ring General has made a living off retiring legends of the business, and ending The Beast in a dream match would not only be the perfect sendoff for Lesnar but it would also be another career-defining moment for the Austrian star.
Gunther has said Paul Heyman owes him a favor for handling Seth Rollins coming out of WrestleMania season, so expect that storyline to be revisited as SummerSlam approaches.
With Lesnar putting his career on the line, and Gunther possibly putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line if he beats Cody Rhodes, SummerSlam would have its main event.
Becky Lynch vs. Britt Baker
Becky Lynch has done almost everything you could imagine in WWE.
From main events to iconic WrestleMania moments, there aren't too many dream matches left for the Irish Superstar, but there is one woman who could show up and generate legitimate excitement.
Look no further than a debuting Britt Baker as the top option.
Rumors are swirling that Baker's All Elite Wrestling contract could be up in 2026, opening the door for a possible jump to WWE.
As the former face of the AEW women's division, bringing Baker into WWE and putting her against Lynch would make for a monumental moment.
Add in the fact that both women have proved to be elite on the mic and in the ring, and the resulting feud would be worthy of a marquee stage like Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or even WrestleMania.
Lynch needs a fresh opponent, and no one can provide the instant viral reaction WWE desires more than Baker.
