Bryson DeChambeau Talks Possible PGA Tour Return, Reveals Plans for Future if LIV Golf Dissolves

Paul KasabianMay 5, 2026

LIV Golf's future is murky after news emerged that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund will pull its funding after the 2026 season.

In the meantime, two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau's LIV contract expires after the 2026 season, creating questions about his future.

DeChambeau provided some clarity on that front Tuesday, telling reporters that he would like to expand his YouTube channel, which has 2.69 million subscribers.

"I think, from my perspective, I'd love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more," DeChambeau said, per ESPN's Mark Schlabach, as he prepared for LIV Golf's upcoming tournament while practicing Tuesday in preparation for this week's LIV Golf tournament at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C.

"I would love to. I'd love to do a bunch of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reason to watch YouTube. And then I'd love to play tournaments that want me."

Regarding a potential pathway to the PGA Tour, Schlabach relayed that DeChambeau "suggested that the PGA Tour is prepared to hit him with severe penalties if he wants to come back." DeChambeau said that the situation was "quite unfortunate in my opinion, considering what I could do for them."

DeChambeau is one of the game's biggest stars. He's a nine-time PGA Tour winner and five-time LIV Golf winner who has turned into a friendly and popular player, in part because of his ability to connect well with fans.

Obviously, his status will be one to watch moving forward. In the meantime, he'll continue with LIV Golf this year and participate in the majors, with the next one starting on May 14 (PGA Championship in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania).
