Golden Tempo emerged victorious in the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

The three-year-old colt came back from a slow start to bolt past the rest of the field down the stretch, coming from the outside and narrowly beating out Renegade at the wire to secure the win.

Golden Tempo owned 30-1 morning-line odds, while Renegade was the favorite at 4-1 (via KentuckyDerby.com).

Ocelli and Chief Wallabee finished at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

With Golden Tempo's victory, Cherie DeVaux became the first female trainer to ever train the Kentucky Derby-winning horse.

Golden Tempo previously won two of his first four races while finishing in the No. 3 spot at the Louisiana Derby as well as the Risen Star Stakes.

With Golden Tempo's victory from the No. 19 position, it marked the first horse to win from the No. 19 post spot since I'll Have Another in 2012.
