Golden Tempo has won the first leg of the Triple Crown Series.
The colt, trained by Cherie DeVaux and ridden by Jose Ortiz, won the 152nd Kentucky Derby on Saturday at Churchill Downs.
Golden Tempo, who entered the race with 24-1 odds, trailed late before a stunning push down the stretch.
DeVaux is now the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby, while jockey Ortiz is the ninth jockey to win both the Kentucky Oaks and Derby in the same year.
The 2026 Kentucky Derby featured a total purse of $5 million, including a winner's portion of $3.1 million

Highlights
Corona de Oro, Silent Tactic, Fullefort, Right to Party and The Puma were scratched ahead of Saturday's race.
Great White was also scratched after a flip at the gate that left the race with a field of 18 horses.
Golden Tempo could now look to win the second leg of the Triple Crown should he race when the Preakness Stakes take place on May 16 at Laurel Park.
The Belmont Stakes are then set to take place on June 6 in Saratoga.
