Drake Maye 'Thankful' Mike Vrabel Is Patriots HC, QB Says in New Video
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye offered public support for head coach Mike Vrabel at a charity event on Wednesday night.
When asked by reporters about Vrabel, Maye said, "We're here for coach. We love coach—what he does for us, what he's done for us this past year, you can't speak into words. Just thankful he's our head coach. I know he's doing some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world, but we're here for him and I know he's gonna come back."

Vrabel, who has been married to his wife Jen since 1999, came under fire earlier this month when Oli Coleman of the New York Post's Page Six published photos of Vrabel and The Athletic NFL insider Dianna Russini at a resort in Arizona.
Russini, who is also married, subsequently resigned from her position at The Athletic. Vrabel was not with the Patriots on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL draft last weekend, as he sought counseling.
When the photos with Russini were initially published, Vrabel was dismissive in a statement provided to Page Six, saying, "These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn't deserve any further response."
However, Teresa Roca of Page Six later posted additional photos of Vrabel and Russini together at a New York City bar in 2020.
Upon the announcement of his decision to miss Day 3 of the draft for counseling, Vrabel released another statement on the matter.
"As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend," Vrabel said. "This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them.
"I have always wanted to lead by example, and I believe this is what I have to do to be the best husband, father and coach that I possibly can be. This is not an easy thing for me to admit, but it is one that I know will make me a better person. I appreciate the support that everyone has given me and promise a stronger resolve as a result."
ESPN's Peter Schrager reported that Vrabel and the Patriots were not in contact at all during Day 3 of the draft, but Vrabel returned to the team on Monday.
The 50-year-old Vrabel spent eight of his 14 NFL seasons as a player with the Patriots, winning three Super Bowls with the organization.
Following a spell as head coach of the Tennessee Titans, Vrabel was hired as the Patriots' new head coach last offseason, and he led them to enormous success in his first year at the helm.
Led by Vrabel and Maye, who finished second in NFL MVP voting, the Pats won the AFC East with a 14-3 record and reached the Super Bowl where they lost 29-13 to the Seattle Seahawks.
Since they are returning most of their core from last season and added safety Kevin Byard, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, pass-rusher Dre'Mont Jones and guard Alijah Vera-Tucker among others, the Patriots are widely expected to be Super Bowl contenders once again in 2026.
