Angel Reese's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Dream Beat Sky
Angel Reese began her Atlanta Dream career on Wednesday against her former team.
Reese and the Dream took on the Chicago Sky in their first of two preseason games, downing the Sky 87-78.
Reese finished the night with eight points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals as she played just 13 minutes. She shot 2-of-7 from the field, 0-of-1 from deep and 4-of-8 from the free throw line.
The Sky traded Reese, along with the right to swap second-round picks with the Sky in 2028, to Atlanta earlier this month in return for the Dream's 2027 first-round pick and their 2028 first-round pick.
The blockbuster trade wasn't all that surprising, considering Reese publicly called out the Sky's front office in an interview with the Chicago Tribune's Julia Poe in September after Chicago missed the postseason.
In that interview, Reese expressed her frustrations with the lack of talent in Chicago, saying that the Sky "have to get good players." Ultimately, Chicago opted to go in a different direction without Reese.
It could end up working out better for Reese, though, as she's now on a team that earned the top overall seed last year and is looking to compete for a title this season.
