Ben Roethlisberger Says Drew Allar 'Never Jumped Off the Page to Me' After Steelers Draft QB
A Pittsburgh Steelers franchise legend seemingly isn't a fan of the team's newest quarterback.
Ben Roethlisberger, who led the Steelers to a pair of Super Bowls during his playing days, said Drew Allar, whom Pittsburgh drafted in the third round, didn't impress him.
"He never jumped off the page to me," Roethlisberger said. "Is he big? Can he move? Can he throw? Yes. But there was never a time where I was like, 'Whoa.'"

Allar had an impressive tenure at Penn State, but injuries limited him to just six games in his final season, as he threw for 1,100 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions.
Allar will look to prove Roethlisberger wrong, but whether he'll get the chance to show what he can do as a rookie remains to be seen. The Steelers currently have three quarterbacks on the depth chart in Allar, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard.
The Steelers placed a right-of-first-refusal tender on veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers earlier this week, so there's a good chance he'll be back in Pittsburgh as well.
