Tate wore No. 17 at Ohio State, but that number is currently worn by wide receiver Chimere Dike on the Titans. Dike is a second-year player, as he was drafted in the fourth round by Tennessee last year. It should be much easier for Tate to buy the jersey number from a young player compared to having to convince a veteran to give it up.
Clearly, No. 17 is special to Tate, so Dike could be in for a lofty paycheck from his new teammate if he's willing to part with his jersey number.
