Angel Reese Reveals Trade Interest From Other WNBA Teams Prior to Dream-Sky Deal

Before being traded from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream this offseason, star forward Angel Reese reportedly had her choice of where she would land.

According to ESPN's Kendra Andrews, the Sky "made it clear to Reese that they would help her land on a team she wanted to go to." Reese revealed during her first media availability with the Dream that there were other potential suitors, but she always knew where she wanted to be traded.

"Other teams were interested, but [Atlanta] is really where I wanted to end up," Reese said.

Reese got her wish, as Chicago sent her to Atlanta in exchange for two future first-round picks.

Despite rumblings of tension between the two sides, Reese and the Sky both have maintained that she never requested the trade. Andrews reported that the 23-year-old was prepared to continue playing for Chicago on her rookie contract, but "the two parties mutually decided to part ways this spring as the Sky began an overhaul of their roster."

Now, Reese will have the chance for a fresh start on a Dream team that is hungry to contend for a WNBA title after disappointingly losing in the first round of the playoffs last season.
