Tight end Rob Gronkowski was officially chosen Wednesday for induction into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame during the 2026 NFL season.

Earlier this month, Gronk was named a finalist for the Patriots Hall of Fame along with kicker Adam Vinatieri and guard Logan Mankins. Gronkowski subsequently won the fan vote, which concluded on Tuesday.

Regarding Gronk's impending induction, Patriots owner Robert Kraft released a statement on the team's official website, saying, "Rob Gronkowski's performance on the field was extraordinary, but it was his infectious energy and consistently positive presence that truly set him apart. He always brightened everyone's day. He earned the respect of coaches and teammates through his work ethic, preparation and unselfish approach, while redefining what it meant to play his position. Rob became a fan favorite almost immediately and remained the standard at tight end for nearly a decade. We look forward to celebrating his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame and, in time, the Pro Football Hall of Fame."

Originally selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft out of Arizona, Gronkowski spent the first nine of his 11 NFL seasons with the Pats.

As a Patriot, Gronk earned five Pro Bowl nods and four First Team All-Pro selections, plus he achieved three of his four career Super Bowl wins with New England.

In addition to being the Patriots' all-time leader in regular-season touchdown catches with 79, Gronkowski is fifth in receptions with 521 and second in receiving yardage with 7,861.

On top of that, Gronk was a dominant force in 16 career playoff games with the Pats, making 81 catches for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Gronkowski is the 38th inductee in the history of the Patriots Hall of Fame, and he is joining a pair of former teammates in quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman, who were inducted in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Other recent inductees include nose tackle Vince Wilfork, linebacker Mike Vrabel, offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia and head coach Bill Parcells.

A Patriots Hall of Fame induction is the first of many major accolades Gronk will receive in retirement, as he seemingly has a strong chance to become a Pro Football Hall of Famer as well when first eligible next year.
