Jeremiyah Love, Carson Beck Praised by Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur After 2026 NFL Draft

New Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur is hoping he can turn things around quickly, and he's happy with how his first draft went.

LaFleur praised the Cardinals' first-round pick, former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, complimenting his character as much as his skill.

"I think we all see the talent; he's been very productive at Notre Dame for many years," LaFleur said on the Rich Eisen Show (2:45 mark). "What's unique about this guy is he is a man. He walks in the room, and he has this really good mix of confidence but humility. He is who he is... I really appreciate the person more than the player, and the player is pretty special."

The Cardinals also picked up quarterback Carson Beck in the third round, a player LaFleur thinks brings plenty of experience with him to the NFL.

"There's two things that really stuck out to all of us in this building: that's the experience that he's played," he said (7:20 mark). "Not just the games he's played... but he did in the SEC and he did it down at Miami... He's won a lot of games at a high level. It hasn't been smooth sailing for him. There's some armor throughout his career, and I love that, because it's not like it was all easy, and the No. 1 pick or whatever it is. He's already been through some stuff."

Both Love and Beck might have to wait their turn since they have some talent in front of them on the depth chart, but LaFleur seems confident both will make an impact at some point.
