Multiple teams attempted to stay alive in the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs on Tuesday.
The Boston Bruins were looking to come back from a 3-1 series deficit against the Buffalo Sabres. The Edmonton Oilers similarly trailed 3-1 in the team's first-round series with the Anaheim Ducks.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars entered Game 5 with their series tied 2-2.

Tuesday Highlights
Bruins 2, Sabres 1
The Bruins needed a win to avoid elimination, but the Sabres took an early 1-0 advantage following captain Rasmus Dahlin's power-play goal in the first period.
Boston eventually tied the contest after Elias Lindholm found the back of the net midway through the second period before both teams went scoreless in the third.
David Pastrnak gave the Bruins the overtime victory after scoring off a pass from Hampus Lindholm, avoiding elimination.
Boston goaltender Jeremy Swayman recorded 24 saves in the win.
Wild 4, Stars 2
Both teams got on the board in the first period, as Minnesota's Mats Zuccarello gave his team a 1-0 lead before Dallas tied the game with a power-play goal from Miro Heiskanen.
The Wild jumped back in front just before the end of the second period, as Matt Boldy scored on a power play.
Minnesota pushed its lead to 3-1 with a goal from Michael McCarron early in the third, although Dallas stayed within striking distance following Jason Robertson's goal shortly afterwards.
The Wild cemented the win after Kirill Kaprizov scored on an empty net, though.
Oilers 4, Ducks 1
Edmonton started off strong in front of the home fans at Rogers Place, racking up three straight goals in the first period.
Vasily Podkolzin scored first with assists from Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins before Zach Hyman recorded a tip-in goal midway through the opening period.
Less than two minutes later, Leon Draisaitl gave the Oilers a 3-0 lead.
While Anaheim finally got on the board after Alex Killorn scored off a pass from Mason McTavish, the Ducks' momentum didn't last long.
During a power play for the Oilers shortly afterwards, Connor McDavid found Draisaitl for his second goal of the game.
The Ducks weren't able to score in the third period, as Edmonton kept its season alive with the win.
